India’s Largest Iron Ore Mine: With production capacity set to increase to 55 MTPA , Surjagarh Iron ore mine stands as the largest iron ore operation in the nation.

Lloyds Metals received the Environment Clearance for expansion in June 2025. The company plans to initially mine 26 MTPA of Hematite (Direct Sales Ore). Over time, production will ramp up to a capacity of 55 MTPA , incorporating up to 45 MT of Banded Hematite Quartzite (BHQ). As beneficiation plants become operational, the company will transition from using Hematite DSO to beneficiated ore. The production capacity stood at 10 MTPA in FY25. The mining operation is designed with sustainability at its core by utilizing battery-operated heavy equipment, electrically powered machinery, LNG vehicles, and renewable energy sources.

The expansion of the mine is set to bolster cost-effective and sustainable steel production, securing a reliable long-term supply of iron ore for internal operations and potential external distribution. This expansion is set to strengthen our forward integration strategy, as we advance towards pellet production and steel manufacturing.
