Spanning 280 acres, the facility began with a 500 tonnes per day
(TPD) DRI kiln and has expanded to include four
additional kilns, reaching a total capacity of 900 TPD. In FY24, this unit produced
over 270,000 mT of Direct
Reduced Iron (DRI), also known as Sponge Iron, primarily from iron ore lumps sourced from our own
mines in
Surjagarh. To support these operations, Lloyds Metals has a 30 MW power generation
facility, which utilizes waste
heat recovery boilers and an AFBC boiler, ensuring low-cost energy generation. Approximately
5 MW of this power is
used internally, while the surplus is sold to state boards and power trading companies.
Lloyds Metals has been a catalyst to the industrial and economical development of the region, empowering communities and enriching lives. The facility employs over 500 people, mostly from local villages.
