Currently, through a bilateral agreement with Mandovi River Pellets (MRPPL), Goa, we source prime quality pellets made from our iron ore. Mandovi River Pellets (MRPPL) operates a ~2 MTPA pellet plant in Goa, one of the oldest in the country. These pellets are sold under thename LMELPEL (pronounced El-Ml-PEL).
Recently, the plant has been upgraded with state-of-the-art technology using DCS (Distributed Control System) and Dual Fuel Burners. This enables usage of natural gas as fuel replacing the earlier Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS) oil thus bringing down emissions.
The facility has its own jetty to receive iron ore and dispatch pellets through barges. Mormugao port in Goa is used for transportation.
